Mount Pleasant Police Department
 

The Mount Pleasant Borough Police Department has been in existence since the borough was incorporated. The Department currently consists of three full time officers including the chief of police and nine part time officers. The Department is on duty 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The Department fleet of vehicles consists of two Ford Crown Victoria police interceptors and one Jeep Cherokee 4 Wheel Drive.

In an effort to curtail the use and sale of controlled substances, the Department is a member and participates in the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force, off of the Attorney General.

The Department offers a variety of community services including but not limited to bicycle safety, child identification, tours of the Police Department to various organizations, school programs, and works in conjunction with the Mt. Pleasant Area Drug Awareness Organization to provide drug awareness to the youth of the Mount Pleasant area. The Department is also equipped with a variety of weaponry including a .223 cal AR 15 and two tazers.
