UCC #604: Building permits are required for the protection of the public health, safety, and welfare. The Borough of Mount Pleasant has adopted the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code. Persons who are planning any home improvement project should call the Borough Office for the phone number of the Building Inspector.

Property Maintenance #605: Property owners and tenants must maintain in good repair, structurally sound and sanitary so as not to pose a threat to the public health, safety, and welfare.

Sidewalks #95: Sidewalks must be maintained to be in good repair by property owners. The material to be used must be flagstone or concrete. Decorative sidewalks must be approved.

Snow & Ice Removal #401: The owner, occupant or tenant of any property is required to remove all snow or ice within 24 hours after it stops snowing.

Animal Nuisance #566: No one is permitted to keep any dog, cat, or other animal that disturbs the peace of the neighborhood with frequent barking, howling, baying, or yelping.

Removal of Animal Feces #494: It is unlawful for the owner of any domestic animal to deposit its feces on public property within the Borough or on private property without permission of the owner for more than five minutes.

Skateboard #608: It is unlawful to ride skateboards on any public property in the Borough.

Occupancy Permit #461: An Occupancy/Rental Permit is required on all rental units no matter how large or small. Each owner must exhibit this Certificate of Occupancy before entering into a lease or rent agreement.

Sewer Certification #592: A dye test must be performed on any property sold within the Borough.

Grass Cutting #325: No property owner shall permit grass, weeds or vegetation to grow above a height of ten (10) inches. Notice will be given by mail in such cases that grass must be cut within five (5) days. After that time the Borough may cut the grass and the cost, plus penalties, will be paid for by the property owner.
