Christmas Tree Recycling


After the festivities are finished,you can drop your live Christmas tree off at the Borough Maintenance Shed or contact the Maintenance Shed at 724-547-1930 to make arrangesments to have it picked up.


Live Christmas trees can also be taken to one of 15 drop-off sites located throughout Westmoreland County.


The trees are either mulched or used as wildlife habitat.

The Borough has made arrangements with the Charter Oak Church to help residents with the following:

The Charter Oak Church is reaching out to Borough Citzens to assist them in one-time services.

Examples of services: building ramps,
repair handrails, etc.

Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Program of Westmoreland County

The Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Program is a Federally Funded Grant Program, which focuses on homes built prior to 1978 since they are more likely to contain lead-based paint. This program covers lead-based paint abatement and possibly other hazards that are related to lead poisoning in the home e.g. lead in windows, siding, and railings, and/or other contributing factors that could lead to lead poisoning. Simply go to the Lead Safe Westmoreland link above and apply today!!!
